We're closing our retail bead store here in New Lenox.
We will miss all of our loyal customers and wish you all well. We will continue to serve you in the online store, and hopefully, now there will be time to add things here if possible.
Right now, get in and take advantage of the sales... 15% - 50% off all merchandise. Everything must go, including the fixtures. Make us an offer on those!
Mari will continue to make glass beads and teach beadmaking, as she did before we opened the store. Keith is looking for work... anyone need an accountant? Someone with retail experience? Brooke is attending Columbia downtown, and is looking for work there.
Keith and I and Brooke want to thank you all for 5 years of patronage and friendship, and we hope to see you again.
We also want to thank the village of New Lenox for making it impossible for Mom & Pop stores to do business here. Just look what happened to Fiala's, the paint store, etc. Our taxes raised our rent so high we cannot stay here. Our personal property taxes on our modest ranch went up $1000 at the same time our property value went down this year. It's true, you can't fight city hall.
A very special shout out to Mr. George Bush... just look what you did to this country. The great uniter, indeed. Vote for Obama! But don't take our word for it, go to http://bulletin.aarp.org/yourworld/politics/articles/mccain_obama_offer_different_visions_on_taxes.html to read what our candidates' views are on taxes and how to fix this economy. It's a really good article and unbiased. (Even though we obviously are.)
